OCT-PARAMETERS OF CHORIORETINAL COMPLEX IN PATIENTS WITH COMBINED PATHOLOGYš— AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION AND PRIMARY OPEN ANGLE GLAUCOMAAge-related macular degeneration (AMD), and primary open angle glaucoma (POAG)š— the main reasons for the decrease of visual function and quality of life in older age and advanced age patients. The purpose of this study is to identify the OCT-parameters features of chorioretinal complex in patients with combined pathologyš— the dry form of AMD and POAG. There were 98špatients (192šeyes), we identified three study groups (SG): SG1š— AMD with POAGš— 63šeyes; SG2š— AMD without neuroopticopathyš— 56šeyes, SG3š— POAG without AMDš— 40šeyes; the average ageš— 75.7š±š6.5šyears. Manually measure of the neuro-sensory retina (NSR) thickness, the ganglion cells complex (GCC) thickness and the choroid thickness by optical coherence tomography were performed in two areas: 4šmm lateral (areašI) and 4šmm medial (areašII) to the optic nerve head. Index of GCC thickness (GCCT) was calculated equal to the ratio: GCC thickness/ NSR thickness. It was found that in patients with combined pathologyš— AMD and POAG (SG1) thickness of the NSR, thickness of the GCC, index of GCCT and choroid thickness significantly reduced in the area I and II in comparison with the control group. In the patients of SG1 NSR thickness, GCC thickness, index of GCCT was significantly lower in areašI andšII; choroidal thickness was lower in the areašI and significantly lower in areašII in comparison with patients of SG2. The research results of OCT-parameters of chorioretinal complex in patients with combined pathology (AMD and POAG) determined the severity of progressive course of AMD in patients with POAG predominance of atrophic form.Key words: age-related macular degeneration, primary open-angle glaucoma, optical coherence tomography, retinal ganglion cells, choroid.
