The journal “Vestnik of the Orenburg State University” is a publication of federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education of Orenburg state university named after V.A. Bondarenko (OSU), is created on the basis of the OSU Academic council solution (the protocol No. 8 of 25.12.1998).

OSU is the founder, publisher and editor of journal.

The registration certificate of PI No. 77-9161 is granted on May 31, 2001 by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the press, broadcasting and means of mass communications.

The purpose of the journal “Vestnik of OSU” activity is formation of the scientific and information environment and distribution of information on scientific development and researches conducted by scientists of OSU, scientists and specialists of other higher education institutions of Russia, the CIS countries and foreign countries, as well as the formation of scientific schools and directions around the journal..

“Vestnik of OSU” in its activity is guided by the legislation of the Russian Federation, regulations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Functions of the journal “Vestnik of OSU”: collecting, analysis and distribution of scientific information, assistance to the statement of unity and consent, worldwide values, stabilization of a socio-political and economic situation, democracy, humanity, freedom of speech and human rights.

Task of the journal “Vestnik of OSU”: publishing the journal and implementation of information activities.

In the journal “Vestnik of OSU” original researches results of various branches of sciences scientists and groups are published.

The subject of issues is formed by the journal Editorial board composed of the editor-in-chief (chairman), his deputies and associate editors: the creative specialists, leading scientists of OSU, other higher education institutions of Russia and foreign countries who control quality of the reviewed materials for the publication by means of reviewing institute. All published materials pass obligatory scientific reviewing and examination. The editorial board is an advisory body, it defines positions on specific questions, problems, prospects of the journal activity, supports the high professional level of the edition.

The journal is included in the list of periodic scientific and the scientific and technical publications of Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in which the publication of the main results of theses on competition of an academic degree of the candidate and doctor of sciences is recommended in the specialties:

5.8.1. General pedagogy, history of pedagogy and education (pedagogical sciences);

5.8.2. Theory and methods of training and education (pedagogical sciences);

5.8.7. Methodology and technology of vocational education (pedagogical sciences).

The journal “Vestnik of OSU” is included in the Abstract journal and the VINITI databases. Data on the journal are published in the international help system on the periodic and proceeding editions “Ulrich's Periodicals Directory”.

Information support to the journal is carried out by Ltd. Scientific Electronic Library (RUNEB) — the integrated scientific information resource elibrary.ru in the Russian zone of the Internet containing, in particular, and electronic versions of articles that published in journal “Vestnik of OSU”. RUNEB provides the round-the-clock access to materials, gives opportunities of carrying out their search, viewing and reading on the Internet, and also the printing or their preservations on a disk, makes collecting and processing of statistics of materials use, including on system of the Russian Index of Scientific Citing (RISC).
