The “Vestnik of the Orenburg State University” magazine is a publication of federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education of Orenburg state university (OSU), is created on the basis of the solution of the Academic council of OSU (the protocol No. 8 of 25.12.1998).

OSU is the founder, the publisher and the edition of magazine.

The registration certificate of PI No. 77-9161 is granted on May 31, 2001 by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the press, broadcasting and means of mass communications.

The purpose of activity of the magazine of “Vestnik of OSU” is formation of the scientific and information environment and distribution of information on scientific development and the researches conducted by scientists of OSU, scientists and specialists of other higher education institutions of Russia, the CIS countries and foreign countries, and also formation round the magazine of science schools and the directions.

“Vestnik of OSU” in its activity is guided by the legislation of the Russian Federation, regulations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Functions of the magazine “Vestnik of OSU”: collecting, analysis and distribution of scientific information, assistance to the statement of unity and consent, worldwide values, stabilization of a socio-political and economic situation, democracy, humanity, freedom of speech and human rights.

Task of the magazine “Vestnik of OSU”: issue of the magazine and implementation of information activities.

In the magazine “Vestnik of OSU” results of original researches of scientists of various branches of sciences and groups.

The subject of issuess is formed by the Editorial board of the magazine composed of the editor-in-chief (chairman), his deputies and associate editors: the creative specialists, leading scientists of OSU, other higher education institutions of Russia and foreign countries who control quality of the reviewed materials for the publication by means of institute of reviewing. All published materials pass obligatory scientific reviewing and examination. The editorial board is an advisory body, it defines positions on specific questions, problems, prospects of activity of the magazine, supports the high professional level of the edition.

The magazine is included in the list of periodic scientific and the scientific and technical publications of VAK at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in which the publication of the main results of theses on competition of an academic degree of the candidate and doctor of science is recommended in the specialty Pedagogical sciences (13.00.00).

The magazine “Vestnik of OSU” is included in the Abstract magazine and the VINITI databases. Data on the magazine are published in the international help system on the periodic and proceeding editions “Ulrich's Periodicals Directory”.

Information support to the magazine is carried out by Ltd. Scientific Electronic Library (RUNEB) — the integrated scientific information resource elibrary.ru in the Russian zone of the Internet containing, in particular, and electronic versions of articles that published in magazine “Vestnik of OSU”. RUNEB provides the round-the-clock access to materials, gives opportunities of carrying out their search, viewing and reading on the Internet, and also the printing or their preservations on a disk, makes collecting and processing of statistics of materials use, including on system of the Russian Index of Scientific Citing (RISC).
