Gorokhov P.A. PHILOSOPHICAL IDEAS IN FICTION BY HERBERT WELLS The article considers the key philosophical ideas, which served as the basis of the great science fiction novels of H. Wells. Wells was the founder of social-anthropological fiction, as he foresaw many narrative passages of human history and future global challenges of the modern era, creating a new type of novel in which the philosophical reflections on human nature and its future are intertwined with action-action. Key words: social and anthropological science fiction, social inequality, dystopia, cyclic and linear concepts of time, hypothetical and categorical imperatives, the responsibility of the scientist, evolution.
