The main steps of formation in the Russian system, its characteristics and functions were pointed out. the importance of electronic bank due payments was considered as one of the main direction of payment system development in Russia.Key words: payment system, clearing settlement, intraregional electronic payments, interregional electronic accounts, special participant of accounting, associated participant of accounts.
