Brief historical outline about the Russian close-to-borderlines territories formation is given, the place and the role of the close-to-borderline territories in the state protection sphere are defined. The state's legislation for the last decades is considered in the article in detail. The legislation regulates the close-to-borderline territories provision and use by different persons involved into land relations.
