Kulagina E.P., Ushakova Yu.V., Chepasov V.I. DETERMINING OF INTERCOMMUNICATION BETWEEN LEPTIN LEVEL AND IGF-1 IN BLOOD SERUM OF CHILDREN WITH 1 TYPE DIABETES (DM)The aim of the study was to determine the intercommunication between serum leptin level and IGF-1 of children with DM. 136 children aged 1—18 years were examined: with diabetes without DN — 112; diabetic patients with DN — 25. The authors assessed clinical and laboratory indexes, the concentration of IGF-1 and leptin in blood serum. As the methods of mathematical analysis methods were applied multivariate statistics (correlation, factor and regression analysis), which revealed patterns between leptin and IGF-1 in the studied groups. The results of correlation, factor and regression analysis showed that the patients with diabetes without DN the intercommunication between the index of leptin and IGF-1 is absent. Also they have found a reliable intercommunication between serum leptin and IGF-1 of patients with DN, from which they could conclude that the indexes of serum leptin and IGF-1 connected with DN and are markers of this complication. Established intercommunication shows that the index change of serum leptin potentiates the adverse effect of IGF-1 of patients with DN. Key words: mathematics, factor analysis, treatment of children, regression analysis, diabetes mellitus, level of serum leptin.
