HISTORICAL-COMPARATIVE RESEARCH METHOD OF THE FORMATION OF A NATIONAL GERMAN LANGUAGE IN THE PERIOD OF XII–XVIII CENTURIES [№ 4 ' 2017]
Comparative historical research method gives the opportunity to show the process of formation of modern grammatical systems, the formation of the vocabulary of languages.The analysis of the material reveals the following main features of the formation of the German national literary language in the period of XII–XVIII centuries. Changes in the systems of declension and conjugation. The growing use of real time (presence) in the description of past events.World-building played a significant role in the word formation of early high German language in compounding. Many older lexical items in new meanings. Due to the economic and social changes the special languages of different social groups began to shape actively, from which many words and expressions entered in the national language. Latin language had a great influence, the meaning of other languages decreased in comparison with Latin. Most significant for the development of a national German language was East-Central region of Germany, which was a kind of mixture of low German, Central and high German elements. Thus, due to this method, it is possible to schematically present the main features of the formation of German national literary language in the period from XII to XVIII centuries.

LEXICAL AND GRAMMATICAL FEATURES OF THE FORMATION OF GERMANIC LANGUAGES ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE GERMAN LANGUAGE [№ 3 ' 2017]
Appeal to the comparative historical method of research makes it possible to clarify many questions that are not yet fully revealed in linguistics, such as the development of modern grammatical forms, the formation of the vocabulary of languages. For this purpose a lot of ways of enriching the vocabulary and the formation of the grammatical system of German languages at an early stage of their functioning can be viewed. Comparison of the German language with other languages leads to a deep understanding of its history and background and the knowledge of the depth of the relationship between different languages. In the course of historical development, German became part of a large unity called the German language family. The analyzed period of language development laid the foundations for the formation of lexical and grammatical systems of the languages of the modern German group. The historical consideration of linguistic phenomena shows us how the lexical and grammatical features of language are steadily changing over the centuries in the course of the economic, social and cultural development of human society, as the fundamental foundations for the functioning of Germanic languages in their present form are laid.

TYPICAL MISTAKES OF STUDYING ENGLISH PHONETICS IN NON-LINGUISTIC UNIVERSITIES [№ 2 ' 2017]
This article considers phonetics not only as a brunch of linguistics but also as one of the main reasons of typical mistakes which students of non-linguistic universities often commit while beginning to start learning a new foreign language. Aspects needed for the more successful learning of phonetics as the first step of mastering international communicative skills are viewed, as well as the ways of avoiding these mistakes for a more productive studying of a new foreign language. Special attention is dedicated to the specifics of studying English in non-linguistic universities, as well as to the phonetic exercises as the essential way in mastering the skills of international communication. Social role and meaning of phonetics in everyday life is viewed and also its presentation in the world literature. A lot of different ways of studying phonetics, practical recommendations, examples of using phonetic symbols and typical mistakes (as well as the ways to avoid them) are thoroughly studied. A very important role of studying phonetic transcription, articulation, sound system, speech structure, diphthongs, intonation, homographs, stress and phonetic exercises in studying English language phonetics is researched. Phonetics is discovered to be one of the reasons of typical mistakes which students of non-linguistic universities often commit while beginning to start learning a new foreign language to help to avoid these mistakes and to achieve the best results in mastering the subject.
