Bochina T.G. QUANTITATIVE EVALUATION IN RUSSIAN PROVERB. (OPPOSITIONS OF MEASURE) The article deals with the quantitative evaluation, which is a connecting link between denotative and significative aspects of a proverb. The semantic diffusion of the quantitative evaluation, expressed by different units of measurement is proved here. It is also proved in the article that contextual opposition of the given terms, explaining the significative contrast "large-small" and "much-little" is based on such relations as "more-less" which are characteristic of the units of the graduated s cale in paradigmatics.
