THE PROBLEM OF "MASK" IN LYRICS AND PROSE OF THE SILVER AGE In lyrics and memoirs of poets of the Silver Age there is a steady aspiration of examining the "face" of the person as "mask", concealing true essence, and the usual frock coat was expressed as a fancy dress. It is possible to explain this tendency characteristic for Russian poets of the beginning of XX century by recognition of the reality as deceit.
