THE USE OF THE RESEARCH METHOD WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ENTOMOLOGY COURSE FOR STUDENTS OF NATURAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATION [№ 1 ' 2019]
The principal difference in the standards of the new generation is their reliance on the activity component of educational content, which determines its innovativeness and modernity. Nowadays, the organization of studies, which involves the active independent activity of students under the guidance of a teacher, becomes more and more necessary. Problem-based learning can be carried out in the form of a part-search activity of students with the participation of a teacher during seminars and laboratory classes; self-study under the guidance of a teacher when writing essays; when performing research work in scientific circles and industry laboratories; when writing term papers and diploma projects.
We have developed a laboratory lesson using a problem teaching method — a research method in the course “Entomology” for students of natural science of higher education. At the lesson, students were offered to study parasitic insects on the example of an extensive group of Tachinid flies (Diptera, Tachinidae), whose representatives are not well studied in the Far East and are important in biological control of insects — pests of agriculture and forestry.
Inclusion in research activity allows revealing the essence of the phenomena studied, contributes to the development of logical thinking, motivation of educational activity, ability for independent creative research and determines growth, both professionally and personally.
The presented information can be used as a study of local lore material in universities with departments of biological orientation and secondary schools, as well as biology teachers.

TO THE QUESTION OF PRIORITY OF REFRACTIVE ERRORS EXCIMER LASER CORRECTION IN COMPLEX TREATMENT OF REFRACTIVE AND ANISOMETROPIC AMBLYOPIA IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS [№ 12 ' 2015]
Amblyopia on the background of refractive errors, especially anisometropic, responds poorly to conservative treatment, is often accompanied by severe disorder of binocular functions and is one of the causes of visual disability. The study group included 19 patients (24 eyes) aged from 9 to 16 years (mean was 13.8 ± 0.85 years) with mixed astigmatism from 4.25 to 6.5 diopters (mean was 5.13 diopters ± 0.46 diopters). During the surgery and in the postoperative period the complications were not observed. As a result of laser correction in patients were achieved following refractive indices: decrease of astigmatism degree by 4.11 D ± 0.41 D (80.1 % of the initial value) and anisometropia degree — 4.0 D ± 0.53 D (88.1 % of the initial value). As a result of LASIK and FemtoLASIK the average UCVA of patients was statistically significantly higher than the average BCVA before surgery: 0.56 ± 0.15 and 0.44 ± 0.13 (P < 0.01) respectively. After the laser correction patients underwent laser stimulation and computer treatment courses. In 20.8 % of cases the increase in BCVA by 0.1–0.2 was observed, whereas preoperative conservative treatment was not given any effect. The efficacy and safety of laser correction determines its priority in complex treatment of refractive and anisometropic amblyopia in children and adolescents with mixed astigmatism. Decrease of amblyopia and anisometropia degree by LASIK and FemtoLASIK techniques improves the quality of vision and provides optimum social adaptation of children and adolescents.

LONG-TERM RESULTS OF ACCOMMODATIVE STRABISMUS TREATMENT ON THE BASIS OF LASIK TECHNOLOGY [№ 12 ' 2014]
Excimer laser correction of average and high degree hypermetropia with astigmatism in patients with convergent accommodative strabismus by LASIK technology is pathogenetically oriented, effective and safe method: eliminates dependence on spectacle correction to compensate for strabismus, asthenopic complaints when performing visually intense work. Long-term observation confirms the stability of the patients rehabilitation results with combined ophthalmopathology and allows to recommend this approach for use in clinical practice.

EFFECT OF A SINGLE SUBTENON INJECTION OF BETAMETHASONE ON THE MORPHOLOGY AND FUNCTION OF THE MACULAR RETINA IN DIABETIC PATIENTS AFTER UNEVENTFUL CATARACT SURGERY [№ 12 ' 2014]
Macular edema is most likely to present in patients with diabetes after uneventful cataract surgery. NSAIDs in combination with corticosteroids, significantly reduces the risk of this complication. Posterior subtenon steroid injection demonstrates morepronounced and prolonged therapeutic effect in the prevention of postoperative macular edema.

STUDY OF TERAHERTZ BEAM INTERACTION WITH EYE SURFACE — FIBROUS TUNIC OF EYEBALL, CORNEA AND SCLERA IN EXPERIMENT [№ 12 ' 2012]
In experiment on cadaver animals' eyes the authors carried out the study of terahertz beam interaction with eye surface — fibrous tunic of eyeball, cornea and sclera of pig. It was researched the penetrating possibility of picoseconds length impulses (ps): transmission spectrum and gleam with anterior eye surface components in terahertz diapason of electromagnetic oscillations spectrum 0,05–2,0 THz. Power parameters of THz beam for sclera transmission 30–40 mW was determined. THz beam of high power is necessary for cornea, center and peripheral and libal.
