MODERN APPROACHES TO CERTIFICATION OF STUDENTS IN THE SYSTEM OF HIGHER AND SECONDARY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION [№ 1 ' 2026] Modern approaches to student assessment in higher and secondary vocational education must be oriented toward labor market needs, focusing on developing students’ key competencies necessary for successful professional performance. Assessment is carried out through the assessment of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. This article analyzes the quantitative characteristics of the higher and secondary vocational education system in the Russian Federation for the 2024 calendar year and draws conclusions regarding the need to introduce new forms of student assessment specifically within the higher education system. The article examines the possibility of improving the quality of assessment of students’ professional skills and abilities in core professional educational programs of higher education by conducting assessments in the form of a demonstration exam, which immerses students in real work situations and develops a realistic understanding of their future professional activities. |
