In given article the place and the role of the Caspian shelf in oil-and-gas branch of Republic of Kazakhstans, the analysis of experience of development of oil-and-gas resources in Northern sea, influence of a legal status of Caspian sea on attraction of investments, and also value of the Caspian petroleum for steady development of the country are examined.
