The author critically analyzes the definition of health contained in the Charter (Constitution) of the World Health Organization, based on the representations about man as a holistic natural-social-spiritual being, it offers an alternative formulation of the definition of this concept.

The article presents the results of an assessment of interrelation of indicators of economic growth and environmental pressure in the Urals. The results are based on generalization of ecological policy realizing in Russia. Authors formulated situation that reflection of ecological indicators in fundamental documents of regions devel-opment is a term of successful realization of ecological policy in Russia. It is neces-sary to increase reliability of data on impact of nature users on environment, taking into account main sources of pollution, types and social-and-ecological conse-quences. The results of the research can be used in the sphere of state governing of natural resource usage and ecological environment protection.

ECOLOGICAL BASES FOR BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION OF LICORICE IN THE SOUTHERN URAL AND ADJACENT TERRITORIES ^{[№ 12 ' 2011]}
According to the results of many years of studying of distribution licorice species on the Southern Urals and Ural regions, of assessing of growth and the development of plants the typical habitats were revealed and the main ecological conditions were identified for stable preservation of natural populations of licorice. The data on the degradation of vegetative reproduction Glycyrrhiza korshinskyi under the influence of high load of grazing were presented.

The authors studied peculiarities of spatial organization of populations of Glycyrrhiza closely-related species on the Southern Ural and in Preduralie determined with forming and development of decorative bed- clones. The variety of these decorative beds at the row of qualitative and quantitative characteristics in connection with conditions of growing in different parts of the region is showed in this article. Also the authors appreciated the condition of some decorative bed-clones at vegetative seasons contrasting at nature conditions.

GENOTYPICAL VARIETY AND CLONAL STRUCTURE IN POPULATIONS OF TWO CLOSELY RELATED DIVISIONS OF TULIPS IN SOUTHERN URAL ^{[№ 2 ' 2008]}
Genotypical variety in three populations of abortive triploid - streamside tulips (Tulipa riparia) and two populations of diploid division - tulip of Bibershtein (T. biebersteiniana) is researched with method of isoenzyme analysis. Reasons of high genotypical changes of T. riparia and possible mechanisms of clonal structure forming are discussed in this article.
