Voronoy N.O., Nikitenko A.Yu, Atopkin D.M. ESTUARINE BIVALVES CORBICULA JAPONICA PRIME 1864 FROM PRIMORSKIY REGION HAVE LOW VARIABILITY OF COI GENE [№ 9 ' 2013] For the first time intraspecific variability of Far Eastern Corbicula japonica Prime 1864 was studied. Samples were collected from estuarine waterbodies of the Primorskiy region. The investigated fragment of COI gene was highly conserved among specimens collected from different geographical locations. Comparative analisys of haplotypes refer the obtained sequences to Japanese haplogroup of C. japonica. These data assume the identity of all individuals to the single species C. japonica and confirm the hypothesis of recent colonization to the south of Primorye. Ways and methods of forming the present range of C. japonica in the south of Primorye are discussed. |
