The article is devoted to a phenomenon of arts and crafts luxury, it is practically unexplored in a modern science. The attempt is made to define this subject, to show its place and value in the history and culture of Russia of XVIII-XIX centuries. The existence of a phenomenon of luxury contacts with the social status and the life way of the Russian nobility.
